THE DETER MODEL
DETER™ is a scientifically based approach to establishing the abuse-deterrence profile of a prescription drug formulation with abuse deterrent features (i.e. tamper resistant) and comparing it with another prescription medication which may or may not have abuse deterrent features. It provides a dynamic measurement of the rates of abuse and illicit routes of administration for a drug, enables the assessment of a drug's attractiveness for abuse over time, and tracks the emergence of new methods for defeating a formulation's abuse-deterrent properties.
DETER is comprised of three components:
Abuse Deterrent Adjusted Measurement Model (ADAMM™)
ADAMM provides DETER subscribers with a standardized metric of abuse deterrence that is based on accurate, real-time data from substance abuse clinics nationwide. ADAMM also estimates the odds of abusing one product through a specific route of administration (i.e. injecting) relative to another product over the past 30 days.
Rx Opioid Attractiveness Measure (ROAM™)
Using proprietary scientific methods, ROAM measures the relative attractiveness to abusers of particular opioid formulation in relationship to a range of comparable drugs. It also enables subscribers to track changes in attractiveness of their product over time.
Internet-based Prescription Opioid Surveillance Technology (iPOST™)
iPOST leverages advanced surveillance technology to monitor the Internet, alerting subscribers to the rise of new techniques and recipes for extracting the active drug from a formulation.
